Some rules to avoid Phishing
-
Never give out, either in writing or verbally, your access identifiers and/or passwords or your personal bank details (bank account identification, secret numbers and/or codes of cards, contract number, etc) even if the presumed sender is a known official organisation.
An official organisation never asks for this type of confidential information.
-
This information is strictly confidential and reserved for personal use.
-
Senders' e-mail addresses can be falsified.
You must be wary and not consider them trustworthy.
If you are not sure, take the precaution of checking by telephoning the organisation that sent the e-mail.
-
Do not trust e-mails that ask you to go to a site by clicking on a link or a button.
They may be pirate sites.
It is always preferable to type in the exact address yourself for sensitive sites (your bank, e-commerce sites, etc).
For example, do not trust pre-programmed favourites menus in cybercafés.
Enter the address in yourself in the navigation bar.
Do not go to these sensitive sites from other sites.
-
Update your computer regularly to protect yourself.
Some Phishing e-mails may contain viruses which risk harming your computer.
