- Internet

The name given to the worldwide computer network, which makes services such as e-mails and the World Wide Web available to the general public.
- IP Adresse

A series of 4 whole numbers (also called « 4 bytes ») between 0 and 255 that allows any computer or server connected to the Internet to be identified.
This address is allocated by the Internet service provider.
Example of an IP address: 123.66.241.42.
In the event of legal proceedings, it may be used to discover the identity of an Internet user via his or her service provider.

Internet Service Provider refers to a company that offers a service providing access to the Internet (via a modem or broadband).
- Keylogger

Software that records the keystrokes made on the computer's keyboard, without the user's knowledge.
Malicious persons can make use of confidential data (password, bank account number, etc) that is retrieved in this way.
- Log

A file that contains information describing the activities of a program or a user.
The stronger the need for traceability, the more detailed these files need to be.
